For those of you who don’t know yet, Top Ten Tuesday is a fun meme that was created and is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, which is now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s is the tenth year anniversary for this meme and I wanted to wish the authors Happy Birthday because having a meme going for so long is huge. This week’s theme is “pick a past TTT topic you’ve done and re-do/update it OR pick a past TTT topic you wish you’d done but didn’t get the chance to do“. However, I might not be available to post this article next week and since it is already ready I wanted to talk about my “Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2020” one week early! Before anything else, I wanted to add to that list two books that were already on my most anticipated releases for the first half of 2020 list but their release date was postponed, so, obviously, I’m still super excited about them.
I Kissed Alice by Anna Birch
⌚ Expected publication: July 28th 2020
🏷️ Contemporary, Young Adult, Romance, LGBT
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 *cough* A f/f enemies to lovers relationship *cough* Okay I know, I’m a sucker for both f/f romances and enemies-to-lovers trope and therefore I didn’t even need more information before clicking the ‘to-read’ button. Honestly, I’m legit freaking out about this one, I had to check back several times because I was afraid it was a dream 😱
Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust
⌚ Expected publication: July 7th 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Young Adult, LGBT, Retelling
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 Other than the gorgeous cover and the story, which looks dark and fascinating, this book has AN. OPENLY. BISEXUAL. MAIN. CHARACTER. I couldn’t be more excited to read this book, and I’m even more eager with the fact that this fantasy is currently a standalone and I think they are rare enough that it’s worth mentioning.
Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon
⌚ Expected publication: July 28th 2020
🏷️ Contemporary, Young Adult, Romance
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 Shame on me, but I never read any Rachel Lynn Solomon book ever, however, I have had some of them on my TBR for quite some time and this one look particularly appealing. I heard it’s an enemies-to-lovers romance and we’ve already established that it’s one of my favourites trope.
Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters
⌚ Expected publication: July 21st 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Young Adult, LGBT, Paranormal
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 First of all, look at that cover! And then, just reading the synopsis made me crave for the atmosphere of this book. It looks mystical and a little spooky which seems like the perfect combo for a book I could potentially love. Concerning the romance, it’s LGBT so of course, I’m happy about that as well!
Loveless by Alice Oseman
⌚ Expected publication: July 9th 2020
🏷️ Contemporary, Young Adult, LGBT
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 Of course after reading Heartstopper written by the same author, I wanted to try some more of her books. Loveless isn’t a graphic novel, however, it’s still touching LGBT topics, and apparently, the main character will be aro-ace, and I can’t wait because it would be the first time I read a book where the Main Character who identifies as such.
Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin
⌚ Expected publication: September 1st 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Young Adult, Romance
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 This book is the sequel to Serpent & Dove (you wan see my review here) which was without a doubt my biggest surprise of 2019. I received an ARC of it at BookExpo and read it in a couple of days. It was so amazing and now I’ve been waiting for so long, I NEED that sequel right now!
Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles
⌚ Expected publication: August 25th 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Young Adult
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 For this one I’m a bit biased, because the cover is gorgeous and those of my friends who already received an ARC of it wrote amazing reviews. I know it’s a debut novel and I can’t wait to discover the author and the world.
Fable by Adrienne Young
⌚ Expected publication: September 1st 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Young Adult
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 I already read and loved Sky in the Deep by the same author (my review can be found here). Adrienne Young is able to create unique atmospheres and ever since she is an automatic buy for me. This one looks like it will hold a feminist message, as well as a lot of adventure and trickery.
One Way or Another by Kara McDowel
⌚ Expected publication: July 28th 2020
🏷️ Contemporary, Young Adult, Romance, Mental Health
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 This one was automatically added to my winter TBR. I love reading seasonal and I feel like it will be perfect for that time of the year. I’m excited to see how mental health and anxiety will be handled in a contemporary that is mainly going to focus on the romance. Also, am I the only one singing Blondie’s song while seeing this title?
Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson
⌚ Expected publication: September 5th 2020
🏷️ Contemporary, Young Adult, Mystery
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 THAT COVER IS GLORIOUS! I don’t read a lot of mystery books, especially recent ones (my experience with them starts and stops somewhere with Agatha Christie), but the synopsis is making this one look so great. I hope it will live up to my expectations because if it does, it will probably close to perfection.
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab
⌚ Expected publication: October 6th 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Adult
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 V.E. Schwab is finally writing adult books! She as mentioned to me when I met her at BookCon that she was currently in France writing a book setting there, and obviously just the fact that she said that made me excited. But now that I know it’s an Adult Fantasy book, I’m just dying to get it in my hands.
How the King of Elfame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black
⌚ Expected publication: November 24th, 2020
🏷️ Fantasy, Young Adult
Why I’m eager to read it 🤤 This list wouldn’t be complete without this book. The Cruel Prince has become one of my all-time favourite series ever, and even though I haven’t read anything else by Holly Black, I’m destined to read everything related to the events of The Cruel Prince as soon as it comes out. It’s not my fault, it’s my destiny.
What do you think about those books?
What are your anticipated releases of the Second Half of 2020?

I read both of her previous books! I thought The Girl the Sea Gave Back was stronger, which is an unpopular opinion but
