Hi guys,
This is time to wrap up my Summer Project – Reading 10 books in 3 weeks. If you don’t remember, three weeks ago I challenged myself to read 10 books in 21 days. But also to:
– review 10 books (ideally: 5 of my to-review pile and 5 of the ones I’ll be reading for this project),
– try to post twice a week (against once a week currently),
– delete 10 books from my TBR
I’ve been in a slump for more than one year and a half, and I know it was an ambitious project, and I’m happy to share my successes and failures with you:
1. To read 10 books in 21 days ✅
I’m so happy I made this, it was the most challenging part of this but I enjoyed every part of it. The average rating is really good: 4.2/5 stars (and my lower rating for this project is 3.5 for two of the books). Two of the books actually made it to my favourites, one of them made it to my all-time-favourites. I told myself that I would read less than 400 pages books but two of them were actually longer than that, one was even 540 pages! I’ve read overall 3428 pages so that’s an average of 353 pages per books, pretty honourable. I also tried to vary as much as possible in terms of genre.
2. To review 10 books ❌
I’m really not far for this one since I’ve reviewed 9 books! Five of them, as you can see the covers, are old books (some of them I read almost one year ago) and four of them are books I read during the challenge, if you want to read the reviews, I’ll link them below:
Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan – 4 stars
Wildcard by Marie Lu – 2 stars
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi – 4 stars
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde – 4 stars
Sea Witch by Sarah Henning – 4.5 stars
Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer – 5 stars – favourite
A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi – 4.5 stars
Crown of Coral and Pearl by Mara Rutherford – 4.5 stars
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin – 5 stars – all-time-favourite
FYI – For the older review, I posted them to the date I actually read them, so that my blog is more organised.
3. To post twice a week ✅
Needless to say, I did well on that one.
4. To delete 10 books from my TBR ✅
I wrote a full article about that part, but yes, I managed to delete 10 books from my TBR, and I feel lighter now. If you want to see the article, click here.
Overall, I’m super happy with that challenge, and cherry-on-the-cake, I managed to change my Goodreads Reading Challenge from 30 to 40 books for the year (which is what I usually read, when I’m not in a slump) and I’m still 3 books in advance.
And you, what have you been reading lately?
Looks like you’ve done brilliantly with this challenge! Well done 😀

Me too, I had around 25 books to review, it takes so much time and if you wait too long you don’t remember enough xD
