{ Playlist } 5 songs I like to listen while (re)reading my favorite books *Part 2*

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "music while reading book"

I published the first part of this article yesterday, and today, you can find the rest of my list of the songs I pair with particular books of series.

I advise you to check my previous article before reading this one, as I explain more about myself and why I pair books and songs in the first place.

*Part 1*

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
~ Awolnation – Sail ~

This song has been on my iPod for a while now, but when I stumbled into it while reading The Darkest Minds, it just made sense to me. Not really lyrically but rhythmically speaking. I really can’t explain, its just a feeling.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
~ Ludovico Einaudy – Fly ~

This song is another instrumental one, from the movie Untouchable (which is french but was so successful here that it was also made with English subtitles for those who like). The way this movie and Me Before You are liked because in both we have the main character in a wheelchair, and both are about learning to live, even though the subject is treated very differently. The sadness and hope behind this music make me love it so much and pairing it with this book.

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
~ Band of Horses – The Funeral ~

Don’t think the title of this song is a spoiler, it’s not. The Funeral is so powerful it really relates to the explosion of feelings I had while reading They Both Die at the End.

The Young Elites by Marie Lu
~ Woodkid – Iron ~

I’m in love with Woodkid, the singer is French, but all the songs are in English (the talented singer is actually the one who directed the music video Born to Die, funny huh?) There is something dark in Iron that fits The Young Elites perfectly. I actually discovered this song in the French edition of Dancing with the Stars (season 4) on a contemporary dance with Brahim Zaibat, Madonna ex-boyfriend who was also part of her dancing crew during superball 2012. You can check the DWTS video here if you’re interested.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
~ CHVRCHES – Bela Lugosi’s Dead ~

This song is a pretty obvious choice because it’s one of the official songs of the movie, and it was particularly used on one trailer that you can check it up here (amazingly well-made trailer but very spoilery of the first book). I saw this trailer right at the peak between book 3 and 4, I was at my weakest and it just spoke to me.

So here was the second part of my list, you have now 10 of my books/music pairing. I hope you enjoyed it, and I might do a part 3 in the future when I have enough new pairings to share with you guys.

Do you like to listen to music while reading? Do you have a/several favourite pairings?
